Source for engine wiring harness 700 1987

My error on the part numbers. '87 - '89 turbo harnesses are the same part number. '86 and earlier turbo harnesses have a different part number.

'86 and earlier turbo harnesses still appear to be available. The '86 and earlier replacement harnesses have a significantly lower asking price than what you find listed for the now non existent '87-89 harnesses. Does anybody know what the difference is between the '86 and '87 harness and whther it would be practical to modify an '86 turbo harness to work on an '87 turbo?

Given the hassle associated with harness replacement, I would like to avoid a used harness if at all possible (I don't want to do this twice). If a new harness isn't available, I would go with a used '88 - '89 harness which seems to avoid the bio degradability problem in the '87 and earlier harnesses.

The final option is to pull the existing harness off, cut it open and do a wire for wire replacement. If I were going to try this, does anybody know where you can get replacements for the connectors used in the Volvo terminal blocks?
