Frequency of valve clearance check? 200 1985

I've been checking the clearances every 50K on my '85 244 M46 w/214K miles. Checked them today and 7 of the 8 were 0.015" which is right in the middle of the recommended range of 0.012"-0.018" when cold and the 8th was 0.016". I'm really impressed that the clearances have held up so well over the last 25 years. I may extend the checking to every 100K.
Do these valves EVER need adjusting?
Should I stick with every 50K?

Thanks,
Dukester
