ECU(s) ? Location 700

No CEL's the whole time.

Replaced; Knock Sensor, ECT, O2 Sensor, Swapped MAP sensor with a known good one, all vacuum hoses. Extensive search for false air. New head gasket (and all others while I was in there). Flame trap clear, air temp sensor tested good. Arrggh!

Tested TPS, and coil. New plugs, wires cap, rotor, dist seals. Checked grounds all over. You name it I have tried it.

Took the big multi plug you mention apart too...no dirt/corosion visible. But all the connectors in the FI and Ign harnees are questionable. All the clear insulation is beginning to crumble.

Thats why I am looking for the ECU location. Wanna test the wiring to the knock sensor and other components for resistance. Will test all FI ECU wiring too.

Been working on it for over a month...frustrating! $$$! I could have bought another "running" volvo (nissan, toyota etc.) with what I have put in it. Runs ok (if you don't push it hard) with the o2 unhooked, no power at all with it connected. That's when the glowing begins.

Melted the converter...oh yeah, took the exhaut off and reinstalled looking for clogs. All of my spare time is going into this car right now.

Thanks for the tips John!

Barry
