960 sunroof S90-V90

I took my sunroof out because I had a black piece of weatherstripping hanging down beneath my sun blocker shade thingy. I saw that the strips were both off their grooves which are located on both sides of sunroof and run back towards drain holes. How in the world do I get these back on channel without taking out the headliner? Do I need them?
