244 Runs hot in the city 200 1993

It seems that during these summer months the brick is running hot (maybe 3/4 gauge) in the city and around the warning line if the A/C is on. I've noticed that my Aux electric cooling fan is missing which may account for the high temps during A/C operation. I've recently had the coolant flushed & filled which brought the temps down slightly but not all the way to the right levels. The fan clutch engages & the fan spins although I couldn't tell you at what temp. There are no coolant leaks, the front of the rad is clean of debris, and the check engine light is not on. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
