ohmmeter help, please 200 1983

Still trying to figure out why my 240 dies sometimes. The first thing I got to with the ohmmeter is the throttle position sensor. With this little cheap multimeter set on 2,000 ohms, and the contacts touching #1 and #2 on the sensor, it reads "005". I looked at the little instruction sheet in the box, and online, and I just can't make any sense of it. Assuming this multimeter is even working as it should, what would the 005 mean? The book says the resistance is supposed to be about 1200 ohms there. The guys at the parts store aren't any help, either :+)
