Volvo Commercial From The Eighties 700

Fellow Bricksters,

In 1986 I was twenty five years old and at that point in my life had only owned two different vehicles; a 1973 Dodge Dart and a 1979 Plymouth Volare wagon, both vehicles had the 225 cid slant six. My brother and I always loved cars so I was well aware of the different makers and their reputation - including Volvo.

In 1986 I saw this short commercial for Volvo and thought it was clever. It’s one of those commercials were your wondering for the first twenty seconds or so “what is this commercial advertising”. At the time, I didn’t know that in a few years I would become a Volvo fanatic. Over the past twenty years I’d think of that commercial every now and then and tell my wife about it (she had never seen it) – she drives our ’92 740 wagon.

A couple days ago the commercial topic came up again and my wife said “I bet you can find it on YouTube” so I checked and sure enough... hope you guys enjoy it.
