Hi all!
There was torrential rain in Ohio earlier this evening, when I started out for Pittsburgh. Stopped at a rest area an hour or so into the trip; when I started up again, no brake lights or tail lights! Headlights work, license plate lights, interior and dashboard lights all work, but nothing in the taillight box. Pulled off the highway at the next exit.
Some water had leaked in above where the fusebox and all the relays are near the drivers' side left foot - the fusebox had drips of water, but none of the fuses were blown. I pulled them all, dried them and the terminals off, and put them back in, but it didn't help. The white square relay that I believe is the headlight relay was not wet, inside or out, nor corroded. The cylindrical bulb failure relay was also dry. My voltmeter is, unfortunately, at my destination rather than in the car...
Any ideas for what might have gone wrong that I can test without the meter? I'm at a motel for the night, so worst-case I can drive back to Pittsburgh early in the morning with no brake lights, I guess, though I hate to...
Any suggestions much appreciated!
Thanks,
Jeremy
