Did a blow test through the oil breather box 700 1991

Today I got a shorter and wider diameter hose and attached it to the top of the breather box located under the no. 3 and 4 intake manifold. It required removing the flame trap. I then removed the oil filler cap and placed the palm of my hand over the opening in the valve cover meanwhile blowing into the hose. There was pressure and when I removed my hand and continued blowing I could feel the air coming out. I guess it is reasonable to say that there is some flow in the system but man was it cruddy , looking down into the breather box . I am tempted to do a service in that area soon. BTW the flame trap and fitting on the manifold were cleaned last week.
