everyone has always said "oh you have a 240, man that car's a tank." and i always knew that. and i love my 93 240. more than most 17 year olds love their car. and most kids my age drive nice cars. but last night, i found out how much of a tank my car really is. i was following my friend over to his house and i tried to pass him, but just as i started to pass he moved over, then back. i almost hit him since i was accelerating and swerved over to avoid him. i lost control, and tried to correct, but it was already to late. next thing i know, i see a telephone pole coming at me, so i swerved left. i hit the pole at about 50 mph. it made contact on the passenger side. next thing i know. im stopped, with my car on the sidewalk about 10 feet past the pole. my hood looks like a crumpled piece of paper. im a little scraped up, but ok. mostly angry. i try to open my door but it wont. my friend comes running up and helps me out of the car. i look back at the pole and see that i broke it off about a foot off the ground and pushed it about 5 feet. my car is totaled. when the ambulance gets there, they are amazed that im ok. one paramedic told me that with any other car we may not be having this conversation.
i got home at about 3:30 am, and cried for a good 15 minutes. my mom though it was because i almost died. i told her that i wanted my car back.
