Low pitched noise in rear 60-80mph (sounds like diff. but is not) not muffler nor tires 700 1988

I have K88 on vehicle. 1988 740 Turbo .Noise sounds like rear end (maybe not?)

The noise gets less when I take my foot off the gas. & disappears over 80mph


Took the diff. + axles apart.
Checked all bearings.
Checked drive shaft support in centre of vehicle.
Checked muffler tailpipe not touching.
Balanced + checked tires.

Any more ideas PLEASE ??????? Its driving me crazy
