84 245 Ti stalling at stop signs/lights 200 1984

My daughter brought her car (84 245 Ti)home from college this weekend and reported that her car keeps stalling when she is pulling up to a stop or just when she begins to accelerate away from a stop (not good when trying to pull across a highway!). I've gone out an ran the car (starts a bit hard) when cold and it idles and runs up fine. I can get it to replicate the stalling condition by putting it under load (brake on, increasing rpms to ~2000, rapidly letting off pedal, dies). The fuel pumps seem fine (jumpered across the fuses to bypass the fuel pump relay) with each putting out a steady hummmm. Checked the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose for hints of fuel to see if the FPR may be failing, with no hint of fuel in the hose. Not sure where else to turn, having searched the forum for previous posts on stalling to no avail.

Any help greatly appreciated as she has to drive the car back to school this evening. I can have her return the car next weekend but would like to know she is not endangering herself during the week running between home, classes, and work. ---rick
