wrong AMM B23F? 200 1983

I'm wondering if somebody put the wrong air mass meter on my '83 B23F. The Bentley manual says it should be the LH-2.0 system, and the AMM should have an idle mixture screw. This AMM never had a hole for a screw, just a molded part where they could have put one. Book says the screw was eliminated on the LH-2.4.

Car runs rich, black smoke out the tailpipe sometimes, and at idle, it surges evenly all the time.

The AMM says 050 and below that 0 280 212 002
The Jetronic unit says 078 and then 0 280 000 503

thanks
Joy
