RPM fluctuation 85 245 B230 200 1985

Before I did my recent timing belt/engine seal reconstruction job (which, btw, a HUGE thanks goes to all the advice I got on here)...my car had been showing me a big of a RPM bump at idle. Usually when I first start up, and only when I'm at a dead stop, like at a red light or the driveway.

It still is doing it even after I checked the vacuum hoses I knew of. I thought I had figured out the cause (one hose was disconnected) but it did it again yesterday.

Could it be a fuel injector problem? or fuel pump maybe?

The gas pedal does not move, and the time that the car idles high is maybe 2-3 seconds and then nothing more. It runs fine, and strong as any 240 with 224K on it.

Any ideas?

Thanks again for the help.

Dan
