New fuel pump rattles??

Maybe so but when you are maintaining six Volvos with a collective 1,000,000 miles on them having a new fuel pump on the shelf for that price is a good thing.

I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it- especially at that price (as long as it works).

I think it is time to pour some kerosene into a container and test that pump. Kerosene being my choice as it may have to sit on the self for a while (hopefully) and gasoline can get pretty gummy over time.
