Poor/rough idle when cold. 140-160 1972

Just picked up a '72 145, fuel injected. Doesn't like to idle when cold, dies if you don't keep your feet on the gas. There is a hose that goes from the front of the head to the intake that I believe has to do with cold start that is currently disconnected. PO disconnected it and blocked it off while checking for vacuum leaks. Car runs fine once it is warmed up. I'm more used to dealing with carbs so this is unfamiliar territory for me. Besides the obvious of reconnecting the hose, what are some other suggestions as possible causes of trouble?
