Your auxiliary air valve is apparently not in the circuit or not working.
It is made of aluminum and bolts into the head just in front of the manifolds.
You should get a copy of the D-jet troubleshooting guide. It is available from a variety of sources
and most of its contents are also in the green manual.
It will help you understand the various theories of operation of the injection system and what the
various components do.
Possibly the quickest way to get it is from VCOA.
