Any Volvo Knowledge to be had about 40 miles east of Denver, Colorado? 700 1990

A friend broke down about 40 miles east of central Denver, Colorado while trying to come to Kentucky from up north of Boulder. The car came to a smoky and perhaps noisy stop, but the owners are not very car savvy, so I don’t really have a good description of the failure. I do know that all of the coolant hoses had been replaced except for the heater hose that they could not get to. I was going to change that here. I do not know if the hose failed, I just thought maybe steam was mistaken for smoke.

I would like to help them figure out if it is reasonable to fix the car or if they should give up on it. It is a 1990 740 wagon.

So, is there an individual or Volvo-knowledgeable shop out that way that could give it a look and an opinion?

Charley
