87 244 stalling randomly but more frequent last few days...then no start for 3-5 minutes, then starts fine. 200 1987

Hello,
Here's the deal...
87 244 auto
stalls without any sputter, bucking, etc. just sudden loss of power, pressing gas pedan does nothing(RPMs don't increase) then stall. Usually in traffic! Then when I try to start, cranks fine, but no start for 3-5 minutes, then starts right up.

Things I have done...
Reconnected ground wire at alternator(was loose)
new wires, cap, rotor, coil.
new fuses(including the 25 amp under hood)
replaced AMM with know good used part
switched out fuel pump relay(i can hear the click in relay)

One thing i noticed with the relay was when the car was running I wiggled it to see it there was a loose connection or something to make car stall, then I pushed the wires into the plug to make sure plug was firmly attached, the car got seemed to get an influx of gas and revved. hard to describe...

Car runs great overwise, have not looked at in tank pump or main pump. Seems too random for that...

any other little suggestions to try before I buy and install fuel pumps?

Thanks for taking the time to read this!!!!

Jim
