M47 on the way out? 200

In the past few weeks I've noticed it's increasingly harder to put the car in first gear... almost a gummy, plastic feeling. Second gear is vaguely mimicking the effect. Conversly 5th is exhibiting some similar sypmtoms. Best I can describe is that it feels like a bushing is not allowing me to precisely put it into gear at lateral extemes. The shift rod bushings are about 3 years old and previously I have removed the bolts holding the shifter boot (to monitor the crappy URO Flex Disc) and the bushings have no play... I'm dreading a synchro issue...

On an ancillary note, Reverse has to be grinded to get into gear... This was a normal occurance, but it, too, has gotten worse... and loud.

All of this is exacerbated when the car is hot.

Thanks to all

P.S. I will performing the "To adjust reverse gear detent" as described in the Bentley (p.430-3) this weekend to see if this has any effect.
