Another cam gear question 120-130

I have the fiber cam gear off and was about to pop off the crank gear when I realized that the fiber gear and the steel cam gear I'm installing, except for material, look identical. Same number teeth, same pitch, same diameter, same thickness at the tooth area and bearing surface point.

I was always led to believe that the pitch was different between the fiber and steel gear sets, meaning you had to change both, but what I see before me suggests otherwise. Any thoughts out there?

Thanks,
