Fuel pump running when ignition off: I think I got it, but double-check me please! 200

So: a good friend's daughter drives an '84 240 wagon. Recently, the car went dead. I ran the Bentley test at the ECU harness and diagnosed a bad main relay (and yes, Art, it really was bad. I tested it in my shop later.).

New relays arrive from IPD. We got 3: new main, new fuel pump (just in case), and a spare. Car started, no problems.

Now, a month later, the daughter reports that, with the car off, she hears a buzzing sound from the left rear. The battery is low, so my son (they go to the same college, he drives an '83 240 wagon!) jumps her off. The car runs fine, but the buzzing sound remains when the ignition is off.

The only thing I can figure is that we got a bad relay, which has failed in the on position. Since #30 is hot all the time (yes?), it ran the pump.

Any other thoughts?
