Central Locking failure 200 1989

Hi. I just had this problem six month ago on my '90 sedan. I took the driver door panel off and checked the wires going from the door key switch and found the ground(black, I believe)wire had no continuity (it was broken at the door jam from wear) Found it impossible to string a new piece of wire through the jam, so I just drilled a small hole in the metal door structure near the switch and used a metal screw to ground the wire to the door. Has worked well since then. Good luck, jdl.
