How does this AT shift rod attach to the trans? 200

When it happened to my daughter, away at school, the linkage jammed against the asphalt, and over the phone I couldn't make heads or tails of her description of the shift lever being stuck in Low. It was one of those two-trip fixes, having to return home to steal the linkage from another 240, repairing the broken one later. The peened-over repair is still in service after a year now. Like you, I think the cause was neglected bushings.

Why do croutons come in airtight packages? It's just stale bread to begin with.
