The same applies to the SU's for the very same reason, the Mikuni's however do not have the bridge, just the trimmed down butterfly shaft, butterfly and the needle. Another difference is that there is a carb for each cylinder - I will keep you posted once I get them set up.

If there is some way of using the HIF6's with the current set up then yes I would use them - I will have to do some more investigation! I know that HIF6's are a better carb, flowing more air and because of the bowl being on the bottom rather than to the side.

I cannot tell you anything more about this engine as it was in the car when I got it. I removed the head as the gasket was leaking despite my torquing it down some more.
