strut replacement 200 1989

The assembly does not need to be removed in most cases. If you support the car high enough, you will be able to push it down with your foot and get it past the wheel well. I did have to remove the ball joint at the bottom of the strut to get one of mine out but that is four bolts. Remember to loosen the gland nut at the top of the tube before you lower the strut. That would very difficult with the assembly outside the wheel well.

The info in the FAQ is very helpful. I have done both 240 and 940; they are quite similar
