best way to clean M46 screens? 200

I made the tool in the FAQ to get at the screens. One came off while I struggled to make the home made tool work. I'm off to find an adjustable spanner wrench to finish the other two which look to be set into the overdrive farther than the one that came off.

I cleaned one screen with throttle body fluid and canned air. It had some metal specs in it and the magnet at the bottom of the pan had a black metal residue on it. I'm guessing this is somewhat normal?

What is the best method for cleaning the screens? I kind of worry using throttle body cleaner but it has good pressure.
