Starla downpipe is longer than original!? 200

'88 240 Sedan

I just bought a new downpipe this past week from eEuroparts. Well, I just got the old one off and the virtical section is longer than the original pipe. It's about 2 inches longer, but it looks like it will work. But, the down pipe will be a lot closer to the ground than the original. And, it isn't going to sit against the bracket that is attached to the tranny. Is this an issue, or should I just mount it? I don't think it will be low enough that it will hit the ground, but speed bumps might be an issue if taken to fast. Anyone else ever use a Starla downpipe?
