A partial section replacement can be done 200 1983

I'm betting your leak will be on the top of the line where a plastic support clip has retained moisture over time, leading to rust-thru. I've repaired several of these over the years, using 5/16" ID compression unions on each end of a 5/16" OD replacement sections. All cuts were made with a tubing cutter because sawing might leave metal bits in the lines.

My replacement sections* were made from refrigeration (soft) copper tubing, available by the foot where ever plumbing supplies are sold. Get matching Brass compression unions from same source. These repairs were done on family and friends cars that I could keep an eye on for years, with no problems. Ever.

* Sections cut from 5/16" OD brake line replacement sections (steel "Bundy Tubing") could also be used, but the copper has always worked for me.
