new (to me) 1966 amazon 120-130 1966

Being a mechanic with 240 experience, you'll find the mechanical stuff very straightforward, although it never hurts to ask about tricks and shortcuts.
Re the bodywork and the rust issues, you'll have to say more. Is the rust cosmetic or potentially structural? Likely the floors have holes but what about the integral subframe members? If they've been eaten away, then you'll need to tend to them forthwith.
Pictures would be really helpful.
