Back lights 200 1991

The first place I would look is the reverse light switch on the tranny. If you are lucky the wire lug connection may be just loose or corroded, but the switches also fail. If you ground the wire that goes to the switch and the reverse lights come on, the switch is faulty. The ignition switch needs to be in the run position for this test.

I don't think the switch is that expensive but it is difficult to replace, since it's on the top cover of the gearbox.
