no turn signal, flashers work 1990 245 200

On the way home from the pick and pull today I noticed that I had lost my turn signals. When I got home i hit up brickboard and started turdging through the search feature and i determined that the relay was good because emergency flashers still operated inside and i had bulbs on all four corners. according to my wagons fuse box cover the signals are on fuse 5 with a 16A. the fuse was blown, i inserted a new one and it blew as i turned on the vehicle, repeat 3 times.

the switch still works for brights, don't know if this matters.

I'm not quite sure what to check next.
