1988 245 head gasket replacement 200 1988

ok, i am going to replace Mary's head gasket and i've read up on my bentley manual and threads that pertain to this subject (hopefully i haven't missed anything).

i'm planning on purchasing the elring head gasket kit and new cyl head bolts, probably the timing belt while i'm in there... any other part replacement suggestions or needs??? (case of beer is on standby for celebration or wallowing)

everything seems pretty straight forward, but i wanted to make sure there were no tricks/tips/wisdom/things to watch out for before i proceed??? (ie special tools, things not mentioned in the manual, etc.)

any input would be much appreciated.

thanks!
