What are best years, 1988-1993 for 245's?? 200

Our 1981 245 GLT is near the end of it's road. My wife now refuses to ride in it any more. Major C-pillar rust and bad silver paint. And a lot of other issues for it's 300K miles. This week she announced, "why don't we start looking for a newer one?" Suits me.

I love the GLT wagon. All the Turbo stuff without the complication of the turbo. She's interested in something between 1988 and last-year 1993. I don't care except I prefer the old V-hood and glass headlights. I doubt the later years offer the stout suspension, etc., of the old GLT wagon.

Any opinions of what years 88-93 offer the best value and features??? I like manual trans; she likes auto, (so guess where that will go....)..
