Ticking in the engine S90-V90 1998

Eric:
I have essentially the same problem.
Ticking occurs after lengthly idle.
Once in a while otherwise.
Now 140K miles, has had Mobil 1 10-30 since 70K, and changed every 5 K.

A mechanic reported that a dealership drained the oil, put in ATF, drove it 20-30 miles, then changed to real oil and filter. Supposedly ATF will clean anything!

Anyone know of a downside to this?
Is the occasional ticking at idle a problem?
Are the lifters mal-functioning at speed?
Is it due to low oil pressure at idle?

Thanks,
Sixvolvos
