Hesitates- now stalled 700 1985

My 740T was hesitating when I would accelerate after it was warm. It became constant after every stop. Then it died on me in the middle of traffic. After about 5 minutes it restarted. The idle also slightly surges between 900-1000rpm's. It starts right up and I can hear the main pump, I also continue to hear the main pump after driving a while. I did the tank pump 2 years ago and the fuel filter about 25k ago. Is it the the pump, the relay or fuel pressure regulator? I can't trust driving more than 10 miles. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
