M47 weaknesses 200 1989

Hi all,

240 1989 M47 (just converted from AW71)

The car looks and drives great, and I would like to keep in forever (we all say that).

I was wondering about the weaknesses of the M47, what are they?
I remember once reading about a gear (5th?) that can shred? Maybe I dreamed this, not sure.
Anyhow it fees and drives great. The oil in the M47 was replaced 2 years ago and it sat on my shelf until I finally did the conversion.
Should I refresh the oil? What do I put?
What are the things to avoid and things to do to keep the M47 in great shape?

Do I avoid revving and dropping the clutch? (ok ok....)

Thanks!
