BMC Mini - Kent Scatter Pattern Cam 444-544

I get what you are saying about the odd pairing of adjacent cylinders

This is the layout of Kent's Scatter Pattern Cam, it has siamesed inlets & the centre cylinders are siamesed too, so it has similar problems as a Twin SU B20.

Inlet Cylinders 1 & 4 LCA = 104°
Inlet Cylinders 2 & 3 LCA = 98°
Exhaust Cylinders 2 & 3 LCA = 102°
Exhaust Cylinders 1 & 4 LCA = 108°

If forced to use twin SU's when racing, I would definitely use a scatter pattern for the lobe centres.
