Question concerning the flame trap and the crankcase ventilation sys 200

I read in a iPD parts catalog how the ventilation system works and that a test to see if the system is working properly is to loosen the oil fill cap completely with the motor at idle but not to remove it. If the cap wiggles and jiggles that is a sign the pressure is building up in the crankcase and it is not be vented correctly.
I replaced the flame trap and the cap is still jiggling and bouncing around when the car is at idle.

Is this as bad as iPD makes it sound? Should I be doing more in the way of preventive maintenance?

Dan
