240 door Panel armrest 200 1982

The following assumes manual windows. Assume power windows are mostly the same procedure, but don't know where the step involving disconnecting the wiring to the switch comes in.

-pry out the two plugs in the side of the armrest to give you access to the screws.

-using a large phillips-head screwdriver, remove the two screws.

-gently rotate the armrest counterclockwise, pivoting around the upper support. When the armrest is nearly upright (90 degree turn from usual), the little ears on the armrest will be able to slip through the little slots in the lock ring which is clipped into the inside of the door.

-gentle is important. I was rough once, hurrying to get the door apart to raise an off-track window during a sudden heavy downpour. Ruined the ears, the lock-ring, and slightly mauled the door panel.

good luck!

john
