brakes shudder when turning after new rotors installed 900

I get a very strong shudder through the steering column when I turn the wheel (no brakes applied). When I apply the brakes in a straight line, it stops nicely and gives no shudder. The only quirk is that the pedal is not as hard as it was prior to replacement, but that is not the reason for this post.

I replaced the rotors with the cheaper China-made version as I don't think I'll be keeping the car beyond the winter time. But, again, I don't think the rotors are to blame, as they seem to work as intended.

The only other thing I replaced was the stabilizer link on one side, as it was gone.
