More 960 to 940 Seat Swap Questions 900 1993

I've obtained a mint set of front seats from a 1995 960 that I am installing in my 1993 940. Mechanically, this is not a problem. Electrically, I want to take a short cut for the 960 passenger (power) seat. The 960 seat is unheated and the 940 seat is heated but not motorized. I want to use the heater connections currently supplying the passenger seat as a power source for the 960 seat. The wire gauges look about the same, so I think this might work. Note that I have read the excellent FAQ on putting a power seat into a non-powered site, but I'm hoping to avoid running extra wires.

What do you think? Has anyone tried this type of swap?

One wrinkle - there is a third, orange, smaller gauge wire in the 960 passenger seat harness. I do not know its function - alldatadiy suggests it leads to the stop button on the seat. But I'm not sure what it connects to at the other end.
