Coolant Hose / Thermostat Change 200 1977

I'm receiving my 1977 242 via truck this coming weekend. This Saturday/Sunday I plan on giving the car a full tune-up - cap, rotor, plugs, air filter, fuel filter, oil change, and coolant flush.

I have never really performed any maintenance on a brick other than tune ups, flame trap replacement, oil changes, and a blower motor replacement. The latter being something I hope I don't have to do in a long while.

I've read around the brickboard, seen the faq's on coolant changes. I'd like to give the car a full coolant swap and change out the thermostat while I'm in there - the hoses are bulging a bit from what I can tell and figure they're at least half a dozen years old. Any pointers from experience? Any advice on putting the hoses on / removing them / clamping them down? Should I bother replacing the thermostat since I want to replace these hoses? What brands would you recommend of hoses? Where to buy? Best way to flush the system? Burp the system?

Thanks brickboarders!

Webb
