Mystery wire redux 200 1992

I had posted the following in an earlier thread, but it had precious little to do w/ the original thread title so I hope this repost under more descriptive thread title is appropriate..

I've taken a picture of the mystery wire leading to nowhere if anyone would like to see it... I'd be happy to email it. Let me try and describe it as accurately as possible.

It was dangling down the front left side of the engine compartment, resting along side of the A/C compressor. The non-terminated end is black, and curved in about a 1" radius. There is very little wire exposed, if any, and the lead has an extra layer of insulation around it for about 6 inches. Then there's a short 3/4" section w/ thinner insulation which leads into the pin/socket connector. On the other side of the connector, a single green wire feeds into it's own larger flat insulated sheath and runs underneath the maze of corrugated wire looms running next to the ignition coil.

The A/C does not work, but I haven't checked anything other than spinning the compressor with the belts off. The pulleys spin freely, and the front plate rotates with smooth resistance. Could the wire be related to the A/C? I didn't see any obvious terminals where it should be connected, but that doesn't mean they're not there.

Thanks again, you guys. If a picture would help, let me know. I guess it's time I figured out how to post one here.

Thanks again,

Barry
