B230F magnetic drain plug discovery 900 1993

Just did a 3K oil/filter change on my 1993 940 non-turbo. Having installed a magnetic drain plug only at the last oil change, I was disgruntled to find a couple half-inch, foil-thin items attached. This car now has 227K, and I bought it at 218K. So if this stuff didn't drain out before the magnetic plug was added, I have no idea when it was generated. My best guess is a bearing that is failing. The car runs superbly, makes no noises, and loses a little oil between changes, probably due to leaking distributor o-ring/gasket. Previous owner had good receipts from when it had 65K on it and apparently took good care of it. Regular oil changes evidenced by the receipts too.

OK, there is my tale of woe. Any thoughts?
