Am I getting soft, or older and wiser? Turned down a 240 yesterday 200 1989

So damn.. at what point does one turn down a stray? I went and looked at a '89 sedan yesterday. Turned out to be pretty straight.. except for the tree limb that had dented the roof.. for that, it had a new windshield. Fair trade... Zero rust, anywhere...

Heater fan good, all gauges and electrical good (he said the alternator was out, and the car came with a new on in box, but I don't think the alternator was bad).. But, just a whole lot of little things.. broken tail light lenses (though headlights were good, and not at all yellow.. new), broken drivers seatback. Otherwise, good interior. 5 speed. Mis-matched but ok tires (spare mounted, flat in the truck on *very* bent rim... but the spare was on the back)

Deal breaker for me was the wiper linkage that was apart under the dash.. probably the tree limb incindent...

But damn.. overall, the car was perhaps a bit abused, but not at all molested... a few parts and a few hours, I could have had it quite presentable.

I turned it down, and for only $300...

I guess I'm perhaps just mourning a loss (just a little bit)... had it been a wagon, it would now be mine...
