Rear wheels turn with tranny in park??? 200

I'm stumped...The wheels front and back are off the ground. The transmission is in part and I'm able turn turn both rear wheels. How can that be?
When I turn the right rear wheel I can hear the gears meshing.

Being able to turn the rear wheels with the tranny in park I find odd. I also noticed the drive shaft does not turn when I turn both wheels. Is this normal for these cars or is there something going on that I can not see?
