Lose Power Steering On Rainy Days ........ 700 1987

1987 740 wagon. Sometimes when it is raining or has rained pretty hard when I first get going in the morning I lose power steering(very stiff & hard to turn)for a few minutes and then it comes back and then is good for the day. I try to avoid deep puddles and car does have splash pan on bottom. So what could be causing this ? Anyone else have this happen to them ? What can I do about it ? It isn't that much of a problem however I am concerned that it might be a forewarning of a bigger problem developing. Thanks.
