Strut replacement disasters -any better solutions 200

Some thoughts:
- I would agree that the gland nuts need repeated applications of PB Blaster as a starter.
- In your circumstances, a pipe wrench is too weak. McMaster-Carr has a selection of spanner wrenches that fit our gland nuts. The spanner wrenches are quite effective with metal conduit pipes used as a cheater bar.
- Give Voluparts.com a call. They may have used OEM parts that you need, otherwise, PNP.

Now, if you are patient, open up the big file I've noted on the below website. It will take a while to open. Lot's of pictures and tips on how I've smoothed out my process of strut replacements. The file also ID's the tools and parts by source and part numbers (includes those spanner wrenches).

For the fun of Volvos.
