problem with starting 900 1993

92 940 wagon with 230K miles. Began having problems starting; sometimes when the engine is cold and sometimes when it's hot. Of late it seems to happen more when it's hot. Will eventually start after turning engine over repeatedly and pumping accelerator. Once it's started it idles and runs fine. When the problem isn't happening the car will start immediately without pressing the accelerator at all, which is normally how it always cranked in the past. After reading other posts and my Chiltons Volvo manual for possible solutions, I've replaced the main fuel pump and filter, the fuel pump/injector relay (the one behind the fuse box under the center dash), the fuel pressure regulator, and the noise suppression relay. I also bought a new in-tank fuel pump but haven't replaced it yet. Should I try replacing the in-tank fuel pump next, and if so how do I replace it? Do I have to lower the tank, or can it be replaced from within the spare tire cavity? The coolant temperature sensor is also mentioned in the posts I've read as a possible cause of this sort of problem, as well as the ignition control unit itself. Suggestions? Thanks.
